The Story about this Public Liability Claim
Suzanne came to us after reaching a dead end. She had been trying to work out who was responsible for the water asset and roadway where she suffered a serious fall — but found herself stuck in a loop of circular emails between council and various authorities, each pointing the finger at the other.
Lost in that back-and-forth was the person who mattered most: Suzanne. An older woman with a fractured hip, facing urgent surgery and a long recovery.
We stepped in to investigate and determine exactly who was responsible. Once we isolated the correct entity, we pursued the claim on her behalf and ultimately resolved the matter outside of Court, providing Suzanne with much-needed clarity and peace of mind.
Here is what Suzanne had to say about her experience with our firm:
Actual Client Testimonial.
I had a fall on a busy main road in March 2021, tripping over a metal water pot lid that had sunk below road level.
I sustained a fractured left hip with displacement of the femur which required immediate surgery. The medical care and later rehabilitation was exemplary.
Unfortunately, when I contacted the various authorities that should have been responsible for road maintenance, they denied all responsibility.
We are not a litigious family and I had no solicitor, but had seen television advertisements for Henry Carus and Associates, and contacted them by telephone. After consultation they decided to accept my case, and Senior Associate Michael Constable handled my claim.
Eventually it was settled out of court. After costs and repayments to Medicare and private health insurance of monies already outlaid I received a settlement which will provide me with a small nest egg, if in later years further medical treatment is required as a result of this incident.
I am grateful to the Henry Carus team for their support and expertise in bringing my claim to a successful conclusion.
