The Story about this Public Liability Claim
Huanxi was walking with her husband and carrying her grandson in the Box Hill Shopping Centre.
She slipped on a food item on the floor and suffered a fracture to the knee that caused her significant disability.
Her claim become complicated when, just before a mediation a year ago, she fell off a chair and suffered a fractured spine.
The issue was whether the fall off the chair was connected to her knee injury. She claimed it was – we tried to argue for that connection and the defendant argued against it.
A settlement was reached with reflected the level of disability Huanxi had suffered.
She received a significant sum of $100,000 and was very grateful.
Actual Client Testimonial.
Dear Henry, My mother’s public liability claim finally wrapped up with a settlement on 11 February 2013. We now feel totally relieved. It has been more than 6 years since my mother’s incident on 30 October 2006 and I appreciate all of the hard work and support of the solicitors, assistants and interpreters who work for Henry Carus & Associates. The incident posted tremendous pressure on my mother who doesn’t speak English. Not to mention, it occurred on the fifth day of her arrival in Australia – all her plans and expectations went down to the drain. She was feeling despair because of her injury – her ongoing soreness of left leg and imbalance of her body. The settlement of her claim makes her relieved and gratified. I would like to give my applause to Henry Carus & Associates –they stand for the cause of justice. Your hard work makes me believe that all are equal before the law. Especially for us – with Chinese background, we do not scare and compromise, but believe in the equality of law. Finally, I would like to give my special thanks to Henry, Wendy and Phoebe. I wish you all the best in the year of the snake. Regards, Jenny
