Felicity came to our office after having suffered massive injuries in a head-on collision while driving a work vehicle in the normal course of her work activities. She was being looked after by Workcover for her medical and related expenses, and loss of income, and looked to our firm to support her with such benefits and seek common law compensation for the pain and suffering she had endured and would endure for the rest of her life, not to mention the future loss of income. The common law claim was governed by the TAC legislation, and we were fortunate to gain for her a serious injury certificate and an early settlement.

Sabrina came to us after suffering a significant injury to her neck at work. For these injuries Sabrina underwent a cervical spine discectomy and spinal fusion – an extremely invasive procedure. After receiving weekly payments for almost 4 years, the WorkCover claims agent decided to stop Sabrina’s payments on the basis that they say her work was no longer a cause of her injuries and she could return to work! After the lengthy battle, we were eventually successful. Sabrina’s payments were reinstated and she received back-payment from the date that they were ceased.

Ben had worked with the same employer for most of his working life and loved his job. Over the years he had worked his way up to an assistant store manager position at a busy supermarket, but unfortunately was involved in multiple accidents during the course of his employment. On one occasion, Ben was wrapping plastic around a pallet when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his lower back and sustained injury. In a separate incident at work, he narrowly missed a knife attack by his colleague, which unfortunately resulted in psychological injuries.
